“I’ve never cooked for anyone before.” He told me. It tasted too good for a novice cook, but I was inclined to fall into his web of lies because he was just as delicious as the food he’d cooked.
And then I felt it. Like an old truck, my tummy rumbled. I hide it with a smile, but the rumbling grows. “I need to powder my nose.” I excuse myself.
I sit and wait, but nothing. Suddenly, I feel something in my throat.
“From her body, arise my love. Arise.” I hear him scream through the door.
